Investing in tourist real estate means that an investor creates a new tourist activity or expands a pre-existing tourist activity, through the use of a buildable property located within a tourist expansion area or a tourist site.

The local, excluding the lands owned by the public or those owned by the private, unless the latter is the subject of expropriation for the public benefit and unless the right of pre-emption is exercised on it by the National Agency for the Development of Tourism, which is the legally authorized body to supervise the tourist real estate in Algeria, provided that These lands are offered to investors by it, either through a concession contract, or through resale or through a lease contract whenever the legally required conditions for this are met, and by following a set of procedures stipulated in the applicable legislation and regulation.
