Imam Abu Al-Walid Al-Baji is considered one of the prominent Muslims who tried to reform the political tension that afflicted the country of Andalusia during the era of the sects.

Despite all these strenuous attempts by Al-Baji to gather the word of the warring princes, this political reform was completely rejected by the ruling authority, and many obstacles stood as an impenetrable dam against any attempt to renounce the dispute and devote themselves to responding to the aggression of the Christians.
