Abstract EN

This study aims to know the role of good governance in improving the performance of banks, a field study in Iraqi private banks, where this study aimed to shed light on the concept of banking governance, and to show the relationship between banking governance and the performance of banks in Iraq.

In order to achieve this, the researcher selected a random sample consisting of a number of bank employees with different administrative and financial levels.

The data was analyzed using the statistical program (SPSS), and the study concluded that the application of the principles of banking governance in Iraqi banks contributes to improving their performance, and the study recommended several recommendations, including: working to enhance the culture of banking governance by holding training programs that reflect the concepts and principles of governance, working on developing mechanisms Participation of all bank employees in improving performance.
