Abstract EN

The present study deals with the geography of Yemen, which for a long time, had had a vulnerable, if not lack of, development making it a challenge to its people.

Alhujariah district had a leading role in making a renaissance that awakened the life and geography of the territory that used to have the most stagnate environment due to its infertile soil, dry climate, and poor agriculture vis-a-vis its big population.

As a result, such hard environment caused the people's migration to the neighboring countries, namely Aden which was the nearest.

In addition, they immigrated to some countries in Africa and East Asia.

Such emigration enabled Alhujariah people from copying the modern and developed civil life in the host countries to revive their traditional professions.

This experience allowed the people to further practice more modernized professions such as construction, trade, industry, engineering, medicine, education, etc.

It also encouraged Alhujariah people to immigrate to the above countries, establish forums, societies, and raise funds that would contribute to the development of their native place.

The funds financed building road networks that connected Alhujariah to Taiz as well as its towns and villages to each other.

They also built schools and hospitals, dogged wells, and made productive farms.

Such organizational services sponsored by Collaboration Development Board and other foundations could change Alhujariah's topography to represent the early development all over Yemen
