Objective : To demonstrate the effect of botulinum toxii A after treatment of upper limb spasticity post stroke.
Methods: A study was conducted on thirteen patients a King Hussein Medical Center between January 199 and August 2000 using botulinum toxin A for th, treatment of upper limb spasticity post stroke.
Results: A significant improvement was observed ii eight patients (61.56 %).
The rest of the study grouj showed no or minimal improvement.
The averag< latency from the time of the injection to the onset o improvement was two weeks post injection, and th( average duration of improvement was 5 weeks.
Conclusion: This modality is effective in the treatmen of limb spasticity, even though it is costly.
