The aim of the research is to know the impact of the two strategies of the power of thinking and the ladder of cognitive growth in the achievement of the third intermediate grade students in biology and the development of their high-ranking thinking.

The sample (91) students in three groups (first experimental (30) students studied according to the strength of thinking strategy, second experimental (31) students studied according to the cognitive growth ladder strategy, and a control group (30) students), the researcher prepared a high-ranking thinking test (32) items And the achievement test (25) items of the type of multiple choice, and the research revealed the existence of statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the high-ranking thinking test and the achievement test in favor of the experimental groups
