Abstract EN

In this study, we highlight the role of The French Missionaries in Tunisia, whose entry into Tunisian territory coincided with the imposition of French protection in 1881 as a means of obedience to the hand of the occupier and contributes to the consolidation of division and control of the Tunisian people to the point where they are unable to resist the occupation and to follow what the French government paints for them.

The missionary actions carried out by the missions were carried out with the knowledge and blessing of the occupation authorities, which unleashed them to continue to achieve their goals and objectives, despite the resistance of the Arab people, especially the clerics and jurists who opened up the sanctity of dealing with those missions and warned against the real objectives behind their actions, and that the goal of proselytizing is to distort the doctrine of the sons of Tunisia and make them convert to Christianity instead of the religion of Islam, but despite those calls, some of those who were inspired by Western life have become more involved in this policy and have become more French.

France itself, but their numbers remain small compared to the great majority of the Tunisian people, who strongly rejected all the work of the missionaries and rejected the aid they were providing to the Tunisian people
