Abstract EN

This research aims to identify the method of cauterization in terms of its meaning, its legitimacy and its supporting evidence, and to clarify the different opinions of scholars regarding its legitimacy and the reasons for their disagreement over it.

It consists of an introduction, two sections and a conclusion.

The first section introduces the concept of cautery and its use for medication, in addition to the instruments used for practicing it among the Arabs.

As for the second section, it deals with the different opinions of jurists about the legitimacy of cauterization.

The most important finding of the research indicates that using cautery for treatment by the Arabs was one of the most famous methods of medicine, and they believed in it based on polytheistic beliefs.

Another important finding is that there has been a disagreement among scholars regarding the legitimacy of cauterization due to the superficial contradiction between evidences of prohibition and permission.

In addition, there is no apparent contradiction among the hadiths of cauterization, and that medication by cautery when needed does not contradict dependence and trust, but rather the reality of dependence and trust is only by taking by reasons.
