The topic of development is considered among the most important topics that have received great attention in the political, economic, and social fields, especially with the development that the world is witnessing in economic thought, until we are talking about sustainable development as a new and innovative term, and international organizations considered it a necessary right, so that it has become a basic requirement that states seek To be accomplished.

Like other concepts, the concept of development has evolved through several stages, and thinkers and researchers have varied views on the subject.

This research paper aims to talk about how development, in general, has moved from economic development to sustainable development on the one hand, and to explain the most important developments and changes that have occurred in the concept of development and highlighting its goals and dimensions.
