Abstract EN
The research aims to study mascots and amulets in Andalusian poetry, to show how they relate to social life in Andalusia, and seeks to understand the nature of the Andalusian personality, investigate its social habits, its folklore prevailing in the collective mind of society, and other beliefs that reveal some aspects of thought in Andalusia.
The Andalusians resorted to mascots and amulets, fearing the unknown, the horrors of nature, the future, or what the unseen hides, and their hearts attached to them, because they believe that these means can defeat any force that wants to harm them.
The engraving of mascots and the suspension of amulets are symbolic means in the popular cultural heritage of Andalusia, and these practices have been very popular in Andalusian society, as a behaviour inherited by individuals, carrying many ideological interpretations, diverse aesthetic values, political connotations, historical documents, and above all satisfies their deep psychological needs.
The research included a prelude, two theses and a conclusion.
The prelude monitored: the concept of culture, the structure of popular culture in Andalusia, the poetic inscriptions in Andalusia, the concept of mascots, the concept of amulets, the first thesis handled: the Andalusian mascots, the second thesis presented: the Andalusian amulets.
The research has shown that mascots and amulets are closely linked to social life in Andalusia, the crossroads of different cultures, where east and west civilizations have blended.
There were many mascots and amulets - remarkably - in the era of Beni Nasr, and were aimed primarily at protecting Granada from falling into the hands of Christians, a general national goal, in addition to paying harm and bringing benefit.
I have relied on a historical approach that helps to interpret literature and analyses its phenomena, and is based on events of political history and social influences, because literature is deeply relevant to history and descriptive method
