This research paper is based on archival documents, which deal with one of the manifestations of the economic situation in Oued Souf in southern Algeria, the time of the French colonizer, from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the next century.

The archives of the courts are rich in unique information and material about the real estate market in this area and the specified period.

We aim, through the examination, examination and questioning of contracts of this type of trade, to illustrate the reality of the market for real estate, both built and unbuilt, by identifying the type of property, its forms and prices and the related conditions of sale and purchase.
