The research aims to reveal the importance of tools to improve retrieval processes for the content of scientific journals available on websites, and the content is issued within the front pages of search engines, as this study focused on SEO, which is a strategic method that is now widely used to improve the quality and traffic of websites and to show the content of web pages at the top of search results for search engines.

As well as the benefit that the use of SEO can add in the field of information retrieval on the web.

The emergence of a website page in the environment of search engines' pages makes it easier for researchers or users to reach the site, as most users of search engines prefer the results available on the first and second pages, and only a few of them move to other pages.

The most prominent finding of the search results is that the success of search engines in accessing digital content depends on the capabilities of researchers in managing content and providing the technical treatments that should be performed before the process of uploading to the website.

Therefore, the use of metadata allows searches to appear within the first searches with the ability to search for content with more than one option, whether by title, author, subject or keywords, and then it will ensure quick and accurate access to digital content.

The research recommends the necessity of investing the positives of the search engine optimization tools by the editorial boards of Iraqi scientific journals, to enhance the content of electronic scientific journal sites in the search engines and improve the rank of the sites' content in the search results, in addition to the necessity to hold many training courses related to improving search engines and clarifying how to benefit from them.
