Abstract EN

This research paper argues that the Coronavirus pandemic crisis may lead to a fundamental change in the hierarchy of the international system.

A fact that is to be depicted through identifying some of the features and indicators of the formation of a new international order, ranging from the decline of the American power and hegemony to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and its multifaceted economic and geopolitical consequences.

The results of this study indicate that the future of the international system and any potential shift in its hierarchy mainly depend on the implications of the American-Chinese competition as well as the outcomes of this long-lasting pandemic.
