Abstract EN

Corruption is one of the serious global issues and the most pervasive among countries and societies, which require study and solution, given the complexity of its components and motives, and the negative consequences it may have on the political, administrative, economic and social life of individuals and groups.

This pushes towards the imperative of increasing international cooperation to reduce the damage caused by this phenomenon, as well as instead of more efforts at the level of individual countries.

The Algerian authorities have taken many preventive and deterrent measures to combat all forms of corruption during the period between 2006 and 2020, whether through a combination of domestic legislative and institutional frameworks, or by engaging in international initiatives to reduce corruption crimes.

Through the legal approach, this study found that Algeria need to undertake more legislative efforts in the field of combating corruption, especially those related to the independence of the judiciary.
