Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to determine the appropriateness of existing Sudanese legislation to support e-government, in addition to defining the concept of e-government and the different types of e-government transactions.

The study used the comparative method and reached conclusions and recommendations.

One of the most important findings of the study is that since the Electronic Transactions Law and the Information Crime Law was issued in 2007, as two framework laws for e-government, no comprehensive legislative review has taken place in Sudan to account for the appropriateness of the legislation in place for the support of e-government until July 2018.

The head of the Supreme Committee for the follow-up of the implementation of the e-government project formed a working group to review and determine the legislation required to cope with the e-government applications that need adjustments.

One of the most important recommendations made by the study is the necessity of expediting the completion of the task of the formed working group, in addition to raising awareness among citizens about the concept of e-government.
