Abstract EN

We studied the system of arbitration of football contract disputes in accordance with football regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The arcbitration mechanism is considered an indispensable tool to keep football disputes away from regular judiciary, and to settle them by means of alternative methods, due to their special nature.

This also represents a kind of support for foreign investments in the sports field, which always seeks to stay away from ordinary courts that are mostly known for their slow and complicated procedures.

This study concluded that there are several conditions that must be met for a footballer to become a professional player in the KSA and the UAE, so that the rules of sports arbitration may be applied to him.

The parties of sports litigation arising from the execution of the contract of the professional football player shall have the right to resort to Ad hoc arbitration to resolve their disputes.

In case they do not agree, they should have recourse to the institutional arbitration formed by the National Federation: (1) Internal Dispute Resolution Chamber, and (2) The National Arbitration Commission.
