Abstract EN

International conventions and the UAE legislation have been concerned with regulating child labor, so as to provide them with special protection.

The UAE legislation, therefore, adopted the provisions of the International Labor Organization as a basic and original reference for labor relations in terms of principles, rights and duties.

When it comes to juveniles or children, rules are defined to regulate child labor, which are considered among the most important provisions and procedures.

The first provision that concerns the regulation of child labor is the legal age rule, in which case children are allowed to work despite several exceptions.

However, in view of the other provisions that follow this rule, we can say that the latter is the legal framework for the employment of the child, who is considered the weak being that deserves attention from this perspective.

This can be done through monitoring and following up the procedures before and after hiring children, so as protect them from stressful work.
