Abstract EN
Objective : To detect duplication of the superficial femoral vein in Jordanians by color doppler imaging.
Methods: Color doppler imaging was performed in 50 adult persons (100 limbs), aged between 20-70years (mean age was 44 years).
Thirty were males and 20 were females.
The presence or absence of duplication was reported and the diameter of the superficial femoral vein without compression was measured Results: Duplication of the superficial femoral vein was found in 24 limbs (24 %).
The majority of duplication of the superficial femoral vein was unilateral (66.7 %).
Conclusion : Demonstration of this normal variant will help to reduce false negative diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis.
