Abstract EN

The study aimed to uncover how the employment of the Palestinian electronic observatory websites is used to verify the fake news in the Palestinian media space.

The study used the descriptive approach.

Within this framework the content analysis method has been used by utilizing the tools of quantitative and qualitative approaches of the ‘detector observatory’ and ‘certain observatory’.

These two observatories represent the sample of the study in the mass survey method.

The results of the study showed the interest of the Palestinian observatories in monitoring the fake news whose topics were verified and were varied in various fields.

Also, the Palestinian observatories adopt the same way in uncovering the sources of fake news for which the social media came at its forefront.

Also, the observatories tools are consistent in verifying fake news, as they are interested in spreading the fake news and correcting them at the same time.

The Palestinian observatories used all methods of editorial presentation of fake news.

The style of the ‘template plate design’ came at the forefront of these methods.

The study recommended increasing the number of Palestinian observatories, building networks and partnerships with Arab and international observatories, and training media professionals in the field of fake news.
