Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying how the printed Palestinian press addresses youth issues, revealing the most important youth issues that it addressed, the degree of interest in these issues, monitoring their trends towards these issues, and identifying the methods presented and their sources, and the press forms that were used to present it.

In addition, the study monitored similarities and differences in addressing youth issues in the study-sample newspapers.

The study is part of descriptive research, where the content analysis method was used for a sample of Palestinian newspapers, namely:( Al Quds , Al-Hayat Al- Jadida, Al-Ayyam), which amounted to (30) for each of the three newspapers.

The study has come up with many results, the most important of which are: The printed Palestinian press does not give the youth a sufficient importance.

The Palestinian printed press coverage of youth issues is dominated by a political and cultural nature within a neutral attitude, which does not contribute to enhancing the youth social position through extensive discussion of their problems and needs.

The study also showed that the printed Palestinian press devoted the internal pages of the majority of its coverage to youth issues and affairs.

Also, its use of the elements of the typographic presentation is weak and limited, which indicates its poor coverage of youth issues.

In addition, the results of the study confirmed that the printed Palestinian press did not provide the space required for youth to express their ideas and orientations and to discuss their issues, and it does not allocate studies and articles published by its specialized writers on ways to enhance the role of youth in society.
