English Abstract
The optimum design of the stiffened cylindrical shell has been done to utilize the model that afforded a high stresses and high range of natural frequencies with minimum permitted value of mass .
Thereafter, a reduction in thickness of structure at low stresses region took place to give as less weight as possible, approximated by (0.6 kg).
The optimum model (stiffened cylindrical shell of mass 0.6 kg) shown highest value of natural frequency and low induced stresses after comparing it with the equivalent unstiffened model (the same mass).
