The study aimed to highlight the position of the UN Security Council, with its 15 permanent and non-permanent members, in the face of israel's raid on Iraq's nuclear facilities as an explicit threat to the security council's global standing and a blatant violation of the sanctity of the UN body.

The Council, with all its members, condemned the Israeli aggression in a variety of ways, and seven security council members sent letters to the president of the council, the first of which was a letter from the non-permanent member of the Spanish kingdom on June 9, concluding with a letter of condemnation from the permanent member of the Soviet Union on June 11.

The Security Council demanded that their letters be an official document calling for an emergency meeting to discuss the Israeli attack, and then all the members of the Security Council participated in its sessions (2280-2281-2282-2283-2284- 2285-2 286-2287-2288) held in the period (12-19) June, the sessions resulted in the issuance of his international resolution numbered 487 at the last session 2288 on June 19, 1981.

The resolution strongly condemned Israel for paying compensation to the Iraqi side and opening its nuclear facilities to IAEA personnel.
