Abstract EN

Lamentation is one of the main purposes of ancient and modern Arabic literature.

Lamentations in Arabic poetry and literature occupied a wide area, especially the lamentation of Hussein (PBUH) among Shiite writers after his martyrdom in Karbala.

This study came for the purpose of shedding light on what the poets composed in the Lament of Husayn (PBUH) in the Medieval Era, and it includes looking at linguistic meanings, lamentations, and what was shown after his martyrdom in the Husseinian funerals that were held in Karbala, Kufa, Damascus, and Medina.

The weeping phenomenon, the crying of the Prophet, the angels, Hassan, Ali bin Al Hussein, has spread; This study dealt with the medieval poets, who drew religious expressions and meanings from the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s hadith.

In their lamentations to Hussein, the poets dealt with many topics and issues, including the doctrinal, historical and political.

In their poems, the Husaynid lamentations expressed praise to the family of al-Bayt and their supporters.

As for the addressee, the Husseini lamentation used to address the speech to the Messenger (PBUH) sometimes, and reviewing the events of the revolution and its circumstances at other times, and at other times, he addresses slander and insult to some of the Bani omaya, or the discourse is to the Muslim nation and remind it of what came about the right of the Ahlol-Bayt in the Qur’an and the hadiths, and especially, the hadith of Ghadeer, the hadith of Thagalain, etc.
