The hirak that started in Algeria in February 2019 was characterised by a strong use of slogans referring to the history of the country and in particular to sequences in connection with the national movement and the War of Liberation (1954-1962).
Within the approach proposed in this paper, there is an attempt to particularly tackle two of the displayed watchwords: “Novembariya-Badisssiya” and “Dawla-madaniya” (civil state).
Thus, we will be able to visit a part of the past and its rereadings by the opposing currents within the hirak by questioning the different articulation operated within this social movement, including political, identity, memory and historical ones.
In addition, there will be a questioning of their referring to the military, religious and state with the issues that this involves for the contemporary Algeria.

Le hirak déclenché en Algérie en février 2019 a été caractérisé par un usage appuyé de slogans référant à l’histoire du pays et notamment à des séquences renvoyant au Mouvement national et à la Guerre de Libération (1954-1962).
Dans l’approche que nous proposons ici, nous essaierons de cibler en particulier deux des mots d’ordre affichés, ceux de Novembriya-Badisssiya et de Dawla madaniya (État civil).
Nous pourrons visiter ainsi une tranche du passé et ses relectures par les courants en confrontation au sein du hirak en nous interrogeant sur les différentes articulations opérées au sein de ce mouvement social entre politique, identité, mémoire et histoire.
Il sera bien sûr question aussi à leurs références au militaire, au religieux et à l’État, avec les enjeux que cela implique pour l’Algérie contemporaine.
