This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the semantic approach in developing the skills of rhetorical taste in its aspects (cognitive, aesthetic, affective) among high school students, and to achieve the aim of the study, the researcher used the quasi-experimental method, where the study applied to a sample of (60) students.
The third year of secondary education, a human sciences path in Tabuk, they were divided into two groups; An experimental group of (30) students, and a control group of (30) students, and the instrument that was designed for this study was the Rhetorical Taste Measure, which was built in light of the list of rhetorical taste skills targeted for development.
The study instrument was applied before and afterwards after making sure of its validity and consistency.
Several statistical methods and treatments were used for their analysis, including: (arithmetic means, standard deviations, and analysis of variance associated with ANCOVA), and the result of the study appeared as follows: There are statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) between the average post performance in the rhetorical taste skills related to the cognitive aspect, the aesthetic aspect, and the affective aspect in favor of the experimental group students after controlling the pre-performance.
