There are a series of mechanisms and methods that banks and customers should take care of and adhere to, in order to protect the banking sector from illicit financial transactions, which may take banks as a mean to legitimize their acts by including them in banking financial operations, the most important of these mechanisms are the identification of customers and their data, recording and registering these data and information in the banking records and control of customers and financial operations they perform, and update customers' data on an ongoing basis, reporting suspicious operations to the competent authorities and training bank staff to know ways and means that protect banks from illicit financial operations.
