This article deals with folktales as a significant part of folk literature, and an important tool in the process of socializing and educating the young, it being a reflection of many aspects of the society and the culture , and having been invented for educational purposes .

The author compares a good story tiller to a good teacher and gives the main chacteristics required in both.

There are also requirements for the place where stories can be told, and the author goes on to specify these , indicating that these are again the qualities required in a good classroom .

The time of story telling is also important, as is the language used in story telling .

All these dimensions of story telling should harmonize with the Childs’s general environment and life conditions .
