Abstract EN

This research focuses on revealing the efforts of critic Abdul Rahman Shukri in his studies and critical notes regarding the recipient, and shedding light on its nature, role and importance.

This study reveals part of the previous efforts of modern reception theory, through the critic's use of psychological and social studies that flourished in the early twentieth century.

This study comes to explain the patterns of the recipients and their reactions to the work of Shukri and others, knowing their conditions, and uncovering unknown and abnormal patterns that may prefer one side of poetry and literature to other aspects.

The understanding of poetry and its function had an effect on the critic's interest in the recipient, as the focus was on the importance of influencing the recipient’s emotion, and when the masses alienated from that poetry, the critic examined the reasons for that rejection and its analysis, as well as the psychological and functional nature of their role in caring for the recipient’s analysis and study.

And the critic in the writer required that the genius be familiar with multiple cultures in order to write good poetry, and when that poetry is rejected, the defect must be in the recipient and its taste and assimilation, which made the critic detail in some of the recipient styles that admire an incomprehensible hair like symbolic poetry and others.

The critic also clarified the role of the recipient in guiding writers and poets, and despite their influence, the writer should not obey their desires.

And the critic was able to describe the process of creating literary work and its psychological stages, and comparing it with receiving methods.
