Advocating jihad is recently one of the most important areas that needs scientific research because of the presence of various attitudes and because people differ in who controls it.

The Holy Quran ! and the tradition of the Prophet only control this religious issue.

I , therefore , decided to carry out the present research entitled" Prophet's (May Allah's Peace and Prayer be upon him) Approach in Advocating the Holy Jihad" This research consists of two chapters.

Chapter one defines the term advocate both in language and the Holy Quran, while the second chapter includes the various approaches of advocacy to fight which were used by the Prophet.

The research has some important results, one of which is the holy jihad encouragement is only controlled by the Imam's decision although in very particular situations one can take a decision about it.

The historical approach was followed due to the nature of the research.
