Abstract EN

The purpose of this study was to reveal the relationship of illness perceptions to the quality of life of heart valve replacements patients, and to know the differences in these two variables according to gender and age.

To achieve these goals, we collected data from 30 patients using the brief Illness Perception questionnaire and the Heart Quality of Life questionnaire.

The results showed that There is an inverse correlation between Illness Perception and quality of life; There are no differences in the quality of life and its dimensions according to gender and age; except for the differences in the physical quality of life according to age; There are no differences in Illness Perception and its dimensions due to gender; There are differences due to age in Illness Perception and its dimensions( identity, timeline, consequences, personal control, treatment control and coherence);While there are no differences in the dimensions of concern and emotions according to age
