Abstract EN

Yemen has significant ancient, middle, modem and contemporary ages in addition to it enjoys geostrategic, political, historical and civilized characteristics for the advantage of the country and Islamic and Arab nation.

Everyone agrees that Yemen has a strategic location controlling a national, regional and international circle.

Yemen has an important strategic location as it is situated at the entrance of Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, at the intersection of Africa and Asia and links the East and the West, after the launch of Suzie Canal in 1869 in particular.

The relationship with the countries of the Red Sea has become close particularly with Egypt, Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan at the western shore.

It is the most important line that links the East with the West.

In the ancient, middle, modern and contemporary ages, Yemen has enjoyed a controlling and influential location which is a source of early migrations and passageway for them to the Arab Peninsula, Iraq, Levant, Egypt and North Africa and a point of departure for the land and sea trade either through the Arab Peninsula, Ethiopian plateau, Sudan, south of Greatest Desert, Timbuktu, the Atlantic Ocean, Gibraltar in the north, and it is accompanied with human migrations.

In this paper, we dealt with the seashore between Yemen and the Red Sea African countries bordering the west shore; in addition to the rooted relationship, since old ages to the Independence of South Yemen in 1967, which has united the countries on the west shore of the Red Sea and Yemen in a common destiny of European colonization.

Furthermore, this paper aimed to investigate the importance of the shores in assigning a common role between these countries due to their historical relationships and connections for ages that also requires a scientific, comprehensive and profound study.

The research showed the importance of Yemen and the countries that border the west shore and their vital and strategic location, Yemen and Egypt in particular, which are considered the entrance and the exit of the Red Sea respectively at the same time.
