Abstract EN

The study addresses the role of small industries in the economic development in Su- dan between 2001 - 2016, The problem of the study enables to know the role of small in- dustries in the economic development events in Sudan during the period 2001-2016., the importance of the study emerged in specifically the effect that the small industries made on the economic development process, through determining its contribution proportion in the development, the study aimed to know the reality of small industries and know the extent of their contribution to the gross domestic product and find out their contribution to the development of exports.The study followed the historical, descriptive, analytical, descriptive, and standard method.The study came to many results, the most important of which are the production of small industries by 23% in the gross domestic product, and the small industries did not contribute to the provision of employment despite the large size of those industries.

Likewise, we find that the geographical distribution of small in- dustries is unbalanced and thus did not contribute to an investigation in rural and urban development.

The study came to many recommendations, the most important, increasing the care of small industries through the activation of appropriate industrial policies, in- creasing opportunities for absorbing employment in small industry
