Abstract EN

Most of the African countries suffered after independence and stability was not known because of the ethnic wars and ethnic conflicts characterized by cruelty and fierce.

This paper dealt with the historical roots of the ethnic conflict in Rwanda and its con- sequences.

The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the historical circumstances that helped fuel the dispute between the Tutsis and the Hutus, which surfaced with the colonial rule that used indirect government policy, which brought the Tutsi closer to the Hutus.

It also aimed at clarifying the political impasse in which Rwanda had suffered after having suffered from the problem of non-state - hood, which meant that the supreme loyalty was to nationalities.

The economic roots of the inability to build a nation-State as well as the one-party problem led to the failure to implement compre- hensive development programs and lack of interest in the minori- ties, which led to the civil war in Rwanda, although not received from neighboring countries such as Burundi and Congo marked the longest and moSt terrible war of genocide in the African con- tinent.
