Abstract EN

Maintenance plays a major and effective role in production and service institutions.

Through its various types (preventive, curative, and planned), it preserves the safety of machinery and equipment from potential and sudden malfunctions, in a way that contributes to maintaining the progress of the production process and reducing the production costs.

This study aimed to measure the level of use of maintenance activities in the Gulf (Alkaleej) Power Station in Sirte city in Libya, and the extent of its role in increasing the production efficiency of the station, as well as to identify the level of the relationship between maintenance and production efficiency.

The study also aims to clarify the importance of maintenance and its role in raising and increasing efficiency.

To achieve these objectives, fieldwork study was conducted represented by the distribution of almost (148) questionnaires to workers in various specialties.

The researchers collected nearly (116) questionnaires, suitable for the analysis.

Numbers of statistical methods were used such as standard deviation, arithmetic means, correlation coefficient, regression, and others, as these inputs were analyzed using the statistical program (SPSS).

The results of this study showed that there is a statistical significance at the level of significance of (α ≤ 0.05) for maintenance on the production efficiency of the Alkaleej Power Station, where the determination coefficient (R²) is equal to (0.552), i.e.

55% of the variables, on the production efficiency resulting from the change in maintenance activities.

The value of the impact degree (B) was (0.657), which means that an increase of one degree in the level of concern for maintenance leads to an increase in the production efficiency of (0.657).
