Abstract EN

During the French protectorate period, health policy focused on both preserving the safety and life of the French and foreign residents and providing the means of prevention and treatment for them.

In addition, the policy aimed to establish pragmatic health services in order to prepare relevant conditions for a peaceful control and to exploit Moroccan workforce for the implementation of colonial economic projects in the country and to present France as a civilized power.

Also, this colonial health policy tried to ensure an appropriate environment of health safety which could mainly reinforce the occupation and exploit the diverse resources of the country.
