Abstract EN

This study aims at building a program based on using Rogers Bybees in teaching literary texts on developing literary appreciation skills among third year secondary school female students.

To achieve the study objectives, the researcher developed a list of literary appreciation skills among third year secondary school female students.

The researcher used the quasi-experimental method.

Tools for data collection were a test designed to assess literary appreciation skills.

The sample consisted of (70) students divided into two groups : a control one included (35) students who were instructed by traditional methods while the experimental group (35) were taught using Rogers Bybees approach.

Then pre/post tests were conducted to all the sample subjects to explore literary appreciation skills.

The results revealed that there were statically significant differences (a = 0.05) between the mean scores of the control group and those of the experimental one on the literary appreciation skills in favor of the experimental group.

According to the findings, recommendations were cited.
