Abstract EN

The present paper aims to explore the extent of incorporating the requirements of teaching and learning STEM with in first secondary school students textbooks taught in the academic year 2017 / 2018.

Descriptive analytical method was adopted.

To achieve the aims of the research, an inventory of STEM instruction requirements was developed.

Content analysis of the physics textbook was conducted in the light of the inventory.

Validity and reliability of the inventory was ensured.

Results indicated that there is a variation in the availability ratios of the STEM instruction requirements the Physics textbook.

Most requirements were below the standard.

Centralization around the integrated conceptual experience requirement gained the highest availability ratio while the attainment of the sustainable development gained the lowest availability ratio.
