دراسة الشكل الظاهري و مكونات الحاصل لنخيل التمر (Phoenix dactylifera L.)‎ صنف السقطري في بعض مزارع وادي حجر-محافظة حضرموت-اليمن

Abstract EN

This study was conducted at some farmers of date Palm (phoenix dactylifera L.) of Hajar valley areas .This valley is characterized by the growing date palm trees, which in turn contributes to food security in Hadhramout, and creates jobs to as many agricultural workers as possible, in addition to the importance of palm cultivation in the community development.

Field visits continued for 10 months during the agricultural season from November 2016 to August 2017.

The results showed that, the Scotri dates is considered the dominant cultivar, and it is propagated using off shoots only.

The measurements of the phenotypic characteristics fall between the standard characteristics of the low to moderate and the average yield of each tree and the total yield are few compared to what was obtained as a record of the fruit yield in the palm trees.

From this standpoint, this study clarified proposals for recommendations and solutions for the obstacles and challenges that would expand the cultivation of date palm and increase the production of dates in Hajar valley.
