Abstract EN

This paper deals with the study and analysis of the neighborhoods of Omdurman, the capital of the Mahdist state during the reign of the Caliph Abdullah Al-Ta'ishi, the most important of which are the Bait Al-Mal and Al-mulazmeen, Wad Nubawi, the neighborhood of Al, umara, and others.

the importance of studying: The importance of this study stems from its subject, as these neighborhoods formed the basic components of the capital of the nascent state, as the neighborhood had special circumstances when it was formed and its distinctive cultural manifestations, as well as the subject of the study did not find its share of attention, which constitutes an important focus in the study of the archeology and history of the Mahdist state.

Objectives of the study: Describe the neighborhoods of Omdurman during the caliphate era and their architectural styles, studying the names of Omdurman neighborhoods and clarifying their meanings.

Trace the features of the manifestations, the cultural and social continuity of Omdurman neighborhoods.

Study Approach: Descriptive archaeological method.
