Abstract EN
South Sudan became an independent state on July 9, 2011, after a long struggle between the Arabized northern and southern Sudan.
The division or conflict between northern and southern Sudan was a colonial making.

That policy was opposed by northern Sudan politicians, and at end resulted into union between the tow regions.
