The current study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of the distance learning in developing e-reading skills and self-learning skills and their relationship to academic achievement among high school female students.

To achieve this, I used the descriptive-analytical and quasi-experimental methods on a sample of high school female students (the education of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah) and they were (45) female students and they were randomly selected.

The study applied the following tools: E-Reading Skills Test and Self-Learning Scale.

The results of the study indicated a few prominent conclusions as follows: There was effectiveness for the distance learning in developing e-reading skills among high school female students.

There was effectiveness for the distance learning in developing self-learning skills among high school female students.

There was also a correlation between the mean scores of female students of the experimental group in the post-application of (e-reading skills test), (self-learning scale), and (academic achievement).

According to these results, there were a number of recommendations concluded through the study including the necessity of developing e-reading skills and self-learning skills through the use of distance learning.

Research proposals were presented, including the effectiveness of using distance learning in developing other language skills and self-learning skills among high school male and female students.
