Abstract EN

This paper discusses، through many concepts، the economic and strategic importance of the Red Sea throughout history focusing on the Sudanese coasts; it also explains many of the features of the Red Sea throughout history، as well as the origin of its name.

The paper also includes islands and cities bordering the Red Sea، with reference to the importance of each of them strategically، economically and politically، especially that the Red Sea region has been a political conflict area، and has been subject to the control of many different political systems in the Middle East and Europe during the eighteenth and nineteenth.

The conflict is still raging around the Red Sea through the attempts of various political forces to control it، due to its strategic and economic importance.
