Synthesis and study of some pyrazolines and pyrimidines derivatives

Abstract EN

The present work includes the preparation of a series of substituted chalcones (1-5) and condensation of these chalcones with phenyl hydrazine and thiosemicarbazide to afford the new pyrazolines (6-12) through 1,4 nuclephilic addition (Michael addition) under basic condition .

Also some new pyrimidines (13-16) were prepared by 1,4 nucleophilic addition of guanidine hydrochloride to the chalcones under basic condition .

The spectroscopic methods and physical properties were used to confirm the structure of the new product .

The suggested mechanisms of most of the reactions were investigated theoretically on the basis of the values of heat of formation and steric energy of the product.
