Abstract EN

The study showed that the Old City of Najaf, which is the central region growing fast and always show evidence to the expansion, has expanded the commercial area east largely at the expense of branching, including gateways, street-Sadiq (AS), a street Zainal Abidin (AS), in addition to the market area large and through a courtyard of Imam Ali (AS) to Imam Ali street (p) the center of your main street of Kufa, have also expanded towards the south-east axis Street Prophet (PBUH) until the Wall Street and its association with Street Medina, as well as expanded north across the street to its association with al-Tusi street wall.

The study showed the importance of the post, where trade comes from several considerations, including polarized important part of the workers in the city, and is a center for attracting population to urban centers in addition to its ability to provide indicators of growth and development of this center.

The study confirmed the increased importance of commercial activity at the present time to the growing population and rising purchasing power and increase the number of arrivals of visitors for religious and social needs of the markets and increased business and expanded the expansion of the city and its evolution.

The study proved that the central business district in the Old City of Najaf, including institutions around the shrine, and other institutions around the large market to the door of the state, the central area is the area of control or major area fraught then stores the wholesale and retail.

The study confirmed that the commercial high school in the old city of Najaf, including street Prophet (PBUH), a street-Tusi, Khurnq Street, Street, Alasdair, and market Ahoiesh, these streets bordering the central business district, which concentrated primarily a single-shops and some of the wholesale shops.

The study also confirmed that the shops and warehouses in the isolated parties of the old city of Najaf, including the second part of the street-Sadiq (AS), Section II of the Street Zainal Abidin (AS), and a market Mishraq shops, wall and single-concentrated shops.
