Abstract EN

This research is about studying the relationship between the attitude towards Orientalism and the scientific motivation of Orientalists in the study of Islamic heritage.

It aims to: Identify the orientation of researchers and their stances towards Orientalism, to compare between researchers’ attitudes towards Orientalism, and whether they acknowledge the existence of the scientific motivation of Orientalists or not, and to know the impact of this motivation on studies belonging to Islamic heritage.

Research Methodology: For this research the inductive and deductive method are adopted, and following are some of the most important results of the research: The orientalism researchers are divided into three directions, one that rejects it, second that criticizes it objectively, and the third one that accepts it absolutely, and each orientation is in line with its opinion of the scientific motivation and its impact with its attitude towards Orientalism.

The rejecting direction sees that there is scarcity of a scientific motivation and weak impact of it, the critic thinks that there is existence of scientific motivation and clear effect of it, however, the absolute acceptance trend considers that the scientific motive glorifies the Orientalism.

Among the most important recommendations: The importance of creating a scientific project to evaluate the Orientalism and define a concept that explains the truth of its outputs.

In addition, this project will address the Orientalism from all scientific aspects.

So that we can take a precise stand on Orientalism and its impact on the Islamic world.
