Abstract EN
Despite AI adoption in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries being relatively recent, it has become an integral part in the Information Technology (IT) agenda of most of these countries.
Therefore, this paper establishes a case for developing a common governance framework for AI regulations in the GCC countries.
With this goal in mind, this paper examines the status of AI governance globally and in the GCC countries specifically.
A framework for AI governance in the GCC countries is presented, which is based on a layered and modular approach towards AI governance.
