This study addresses important aspects of some French figures' relationships with Emir Abdelkader during his captivity in France.

Although Emir was bitterly opposed to French colonialism, many French politicians and military personnelwho cared about him and those detainedsympathized with him throughout his time in French prisons.

They intervened on behalf of Emir with the French authorities, leading to his release.

Perhaps this is what prompted usto emphasize, through this research, Emir's humanity and courageous positions thatmade him the subject of intereststo asignificantcategory of French patriots when he was held captive by the French colonizer
