Abstract EN

Our study aimed at the status of the French language specifically as a subject in secondary education, and to identify ways to activate it from the students' point of view.

in our study, we followed the descriptive approach, employing a questionnaire consisting of 22 items, where the results showed that the students’ perceptions of the status of the French language in Algerian schools were negative, and also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in their perceptions due to the variable of sex, as well as the academic specialization, while a difference was found due to the level variable.
