Abstract EN

Forty eight mice were used for these studies.

Mice were divided into 4 groups.

The first group was used as a control negative, while the second group administrated ginger only.

The third group was injected subcutaneously with 60 infective cercaria of S.

mansoni and used as a control positive.

The fourth group was infected with cercaria and treated with ginger, treatment begin when the first ova of S.

mansoni were detected upon fecal examination.

It had been reported that ginger had a prominent modulating effect on the numbers, size and structure of granuloma in the liver, kidney and intestine.

Also, there were a great tendency of restoration and normalization of the paranchymal cells of these organs at the end of therapeutic period.

It had been concluded that, ginger could be a promising tools for treatment of S.mansoni infection.

As it had been reported that ginger has an immune potentiating effect and also anti parasitic effect.
