Abstract EN

This study aims to question the thesis that urbanization leads to a diminution of neighborhood relationships in the city.

Our questioning is based on the study of neighborhood relationships between Zouafriya, a social category that is characterized by the ence of the family and shared lodging.

These characteristics lead them to develop relationships with each other.

We made a distinction between three levels of neighborhood relationships by using a qualitative approach of distance or proximity (that can be spatial as well as social) that exists between neighbors.

These three levels are: the apartment, the building and the neighborhood.
